Notes : Emmanuella Vasikya, Executive Secretary of AVSD RDC and women's rights activist, sits at her desk at the organization's office in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, on March 1, 2026. In a city where frontlines shift daily and humanitarian needs overwhelm available resources, Vasikya leads a women-led organization that coordinates protection, peacebuilding, and survivor support programs for some of North Kivu's most vulnerable communities work that international advocates say is critical yet chronically underfunded. ©Isaac Bujirwa | Sote Pamoja DRC & FCRJ London
